3 Things I Learned Watching Teletoon Retro
Sitting on my bed with my sons last Saturday, I re-lived my childhood as we watched Transformers on Teletoon Retro. Here’s 3 Things that occurred to me:
1. I am a little beside myself that things from my childhood are considered “retro”.
Weird. I’m only 35. But when I think about it, the world my sons are growing up in is completely different than mine was at their age. The iphone alone is cooler than anything in any Sci-Fi flick I had ever seen. We didn’t have the internet in high school. I had a Sony DiscMan that weighed 2 pounds and played 1 CD. I had a special adapter for my car that had a kick-butt anti skip function for railroad tracks. Holy Smokes.
2. Memory is a funny thing.
I remember Transformers being epic … when did the writing get cheesy? Oh. It always was cheesy. Weird. We like to believe that we remember things “as they were”, when really we remember things “as they occurred to us”. How many times has someone described something from the past and you are thinking to yourself, “I don’t remember it like that at all.” Ah yes, there’s what actually happened, and then there’s the meaning we add to what happened. The only one who has the corner on reality is God. I am committed to saying “the reality is” a lot less these days. Paul Dunk does not actually have the market share on “reality”.
3. Optimus Prime has the coolest voice of all time.
The reality is, he does.

Haha! I love number 3!!
! Haha!
And so true maybe the next 10 years and we be flying in cars
